2009
During IDW 2009 OCIC introduced the Canadian public to five leaders in development through a series of profiles distributed across the province of Ontario as media inserts, available here.
2008
During IDW 2008 OCIC used media and art to increase awareness of the Millennium Development Goals, and to encourage Canadians to become actively involved in working together for a better world. Some of our collaborative initiatives included:
* Creation and dissemination of Global Voices, a newspaper profiling the work of our members, distributed through community newspapers in Guelph, Kitchener-Waterloo, London, Peterborough, Sarnia, Thunder Bay and Toronto. The stories in Global Voices focus on the efforts of Canadians working in collaboration with local partners around the world. They highlight a sample of innovative initiatives from over 50 international development and global education organizations that make up the Council.

A selection of postcards received at OCIC during IDW were exhibited at the National Film Board of Canada in Toronto and on our online gallery on the TakingITGlobal website at http://www.tigurl.org/postcards.
* Screening of Positive Voices: Leading Together, a feature length documentary that explores the lives of five Ontario-based community leaders living with HIV/AIDS, organized by the OCIC HIV and AIDS Working Group in collaboration with the Ontario HIV Treatment Network, and the National Film Board of Canada in Toronto.
