As the Business Development Advisor for the National Federation of Cooperatives of Persons with Disability (NFCPWD), you will play a key role in re-stabilizing the National Federation, to ensure the sustainability of the organization, which provide business opportunities and income to its members. The Organization is recovering after experiencing a financial mismanagement from the previous administration; its confidence has been shaken, but it is still committed to growing and expanding. As a result, NFCPWD is now operating with a smaller team, and have the massive task of rebuilding the Organization and its credibility.

You will support and guide the NFCPWD in the process of analyzing its current business situation, its business strategy development, growth, and expansion plan. You will support the National Federation in identifying other viable business projects, and also in developing its capacity to provide business development support to its cooperative members nationwide. The National Federation’s support to its cooperative members provides income and long-term sustainable employment to people with disabilities and help them to become gainfully employed skilled craftsman. NFCPWD and the cooperative members need you to help them to develop new business opportunities and seek new contracts.

In the Philippines, people with disabilities are often excluded, marginalized and poor. Within this partnership and your support, NFCPWD and the cooperative members are looking forward to increasing opportunities for business growth, increase income and employment opportunities for persons with disabilities ensuring greater sustainability for all cooperative organizations, their employees, and families.

As a volunteer, you will:

- Conduct organizational assessments to understand the operations, the business needs, strengths and challenges

- Review and enhance the business and the strategic plan

- Support the NFCPWD’s interests in developing new markets, new products, innovations/designs based on currently available tools, equipment, techniques, and materials

- Support NFCPWD to install within the cooperative members a sense of entrepreneurship; less dependence on government partners and their processes

- Support delivery of capacity building training on specific competencies for staff of cooperative members

Essential Academic Qualifications:

A university/diploma degree in Business Administration, Finance, Organizational Development or another related area

Essential Professional Background:

- Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience in business development and staff development

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to adapt and apply business knowledge and techniques to a small national organization
