Role of the volunteer cooperant

As part of its programming in Benin, particularly in the sector of inclusive and sustainable economic growth, Cuso International has just developed a new partnership with the Action Center for the Environment and Sustainable Development (ACED). As the first assignment with this organization, the purpose of this assignment is first to carry out an organizational diagnosis of ACED in order to evaluate the capacities of the organization and to allow the organization and Cuso International to identify the mechanisms to be put in place to improve the planning and management of ACED projects and initiatives to increase food security and reduce poverty in Benin's farming communities.

In addition, this assignment also aims to support ACED in the process of developing its new strategic plan 2019-2023.

The Volunteer-Cooperant will have to carry out the following activities:

- Engage and guide ACED in an organizational self-assessment process

-Accompany ACED in the preliminary review of its 2014-2018 strategic plan

-Accompany ACED in the process of development and drafting of its new strategic plan 2019-2023

-To support ACED in the development of any other organizational aspect identified in the diagnosis

Essential academic skills:

University degree in organizational development, management, program evaluation or any other relevant field

Experience / Essential Professional Skills:

-At least five years of experience in organizational development, strategic planning or management

-Experience in capacity building

-Able to work with few resources and as a member of a team

Fundraising
We ask each volunteer, regardless of placement length, to raise $2,000. All volunteers receive support from Cuso International to help achieve the goal through fundraising. If the volunteer chooses not to fundraise or is unable to achieve the fundraising goal, he/she can make a one-time donation or become a monthly donor to support our work.
