This session will focus on how to effectively lobby your elected representative. Learn how to clarify the goal you want to accomplish in your lobbying efforts and to define what is an effective “ask” according to the level of government you are lobbying. You’ll also learn how to contact your elected representative and get a response and a meeting, prep for the meeting (who and what to bring), how to conduct the meeting and follow up.
The webinar will feature a lecture, a demonstration and a Q&A session.

About Olivia Chow
For over thirty years, Olivia Chow has been an effective and well-known public figure, serving in Toronto’s municipal politics and on the national stage as a Canadian Member of Parliament. In 2015, Olivia Chow joined Ryerson University and established the Institute for Change Leaders (changeleaders.ca) Since then, Olivia and her team of 30+ trainers have taught community and political organizing to over 4000 organizers. Olivia also wrote the best selling memoir “My Journey”, published in 2014.
