The Volunteer’s Role

Colors Rainbow (CRB) is an emerging LGBT rights umbrella organization which works on building a common understanding and acceptance of dignity and human rights to end discrimination against LGBT people in Myanmar. CRB envisions a tolerant, non-discriminatory society that respects, promotes and protects LGBT rights in Myanmar. In this post, you will work with them to make that vision a reality.

As an organizational development advisor, you will support in building fundraising and reporting skill for the organization. During the placement, you will work closely with the development coordinator to build funding proposals, map donors, and enhance monitoring, evaluation and reporting practices to ensure that CRB has the evidence necessary to illustrate the efficacy of their work. On any given day you may be supporting a brain storming session to think through innovative ideas for CRB programming, you may be sitting at your computer crafting proposals that get funded, or you may be editing reports to ensure that they reflect the work being done on the ground.

As a volunteer, you will:

- Draft funding proposal according to the 2018-2020 Strategic Plan of the organization

- Collaborate on the design of monitoring & evaluation (M&E) tools, follow up and compile reports of implemented activities

- Compile and write appealing success stories from projects and activities to be used for fundraising, advocacy and communication activities

- Update “Theory of Change” using participatory methods to ensure it reflects the understanding of the organization

Essential Academic Qualifications:

- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in development, social science, public management or equivalent degree

Essential Professional Background:

- Gender sensitivity

- Experienced in resource mobilization

- Experienced in M&E

- Creative, independent and highly self-motivated

- Strongly committed to human rights and social justice

- Respect diversity and different cultures

- Excellent interpersonal skills

Support Package
