Brief Description:

During your International Internship, you’ll be working with our awesome partner YMCA The Gambia – Computer Training and Digital Studio. The YMCA Computer Training and Digital Studio is a local nonprofit that offers Information & Communication Technology (ICT) training to young people to improve academic outcomes, job prospects and entrepreneurship skills. The Centre also advocates for ICT access for people throughout the West African region to produce equitable development.

What you’ll do:

Assist the Program Manager in planning of program activities, implementation of projects and proposal writing.
Work with the media team in video production, script writing, video editing and photography
Assist Project Manager in documenting of project files and videos.
Supporting Web Developer in researching content and updating the web portal regularly.
Write and edit communication products targeting external audiences and the media;
Draft, summarize and edit succinct communication pieces of varying lengths for external and internal audiences
Edit documents including project proposals and project plans
Develop infographics, charts, images that creatively convey key messages/data
Prepare and manage social media communications strategy to publicize project activities
Any other task assigned by the Supervisor based on intern’s skills.

You’ll fit right in if you have:

Undergraduate degree or college certificate in international development, international affairs, public relations or marketing and communications.
Leadership abilities
Ability to work in a team
Able to follow given instructions without a lot of supervision
Punctual, reliable and professional
Time management and organizational skills,
Ability to effectively carry out online research
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Understanding of entrepreneurship and youth empowerment
Strong commitment to youth empowerment
Strong commitment to anti-discrimination
Highly computer literate
Technical abilities in some of the following areas;
Multimedia skills in video production and/or editing
Videography and photography skills
Project management skills
Web development
Graphic design skills
Social media skills
