You are invited to the 29th annual Amnesty International Auction co-sponsored by Toronto Groups 164, 50, 142 and the Amnesty International University of Toronto Chapter.

The Honourable Bob Rae will be the featured speaker. As the Prime Minister’s Special Envoy to Myanmar, Mr. Rae wrote a Report last year regarding the Rohingya crisis.

Ti-Anna Wang will also be joining us as she and Mr. Rae address the topic: Human Rights Abuses – What can government and individuals do? Ti-Anna has been advocating for the release of her father, one of China’s oldest political prisoners serving a life sentence for his pro-democracy activism. Earlier this year she was issued a visa to visit her father but was then denied entry and forced to return to Canada without seeing him.

Location: Debates Room, 2nd floor at Hart House, University of Toronto
Time: 7 to 9:30 pm. Doors open at 6:45 p.m.
Cost: $20
