About the Programs
This position will provide coordination support to YCI’s Innovate ME and HerStart: Innovate the Future programs. YCI’s Innovate ME international youth internship program provides Canadian youth with the opportunity to accelerate their career journey while engaging in Canada’s international development efforts. Youth are recruited, trained and placed remotely with local partner organizations working in diverse sectors, including digital technology, education and gender equality. YCI’s HerStart: Innovate the Future aims to foster and create innovative solutions for a more equitable and prosperous economy within Ghana, Tanzania and Uganda. The program includes training and support for aspiring women entrepreneurs in social enterprise, gender responsive business planning, the measurement of social impact, and access to finance. Canadian and local volunteers are engaged to provide support to country teams and partner organizations in areas such as gender equality, climate action, and innovation.

Position Summary
The Programs Coordinator, reporting to the Program & Partnerships Lead, will be responsible for providing coordination support to YCI’s international programs portfolio, contributing to programming that promotes youth skill development and application through hands-on-experience in the international development sector. The ideal candidate is a skilled communicator with experience designing and facilitating trainings and coordinating multi-faceted programs. They will have strong stakeholder engagement skills, alongside recruitment and coaching experience.
